SJRI : Goals

In order to have a clearer focus on our goals we have divided them into three distinct areas which include Scientific, Training and Development and Infrastructural goals. While setting goals for ourselves, we lay equal emphasis on each of these areas and we look forward to making sure that we achieve them as a team.

Scientific:

Our scientific goals have always been to create several well recognized research groups within the SJRI. We have also set ourselves a goal to attract national and international scientific talent to the SJRI through sabbatical programs and create national and international networks that serve to facilitate our mission. This is done keeping in mind the bigger picture in mind with the purpose of proper health in India.

Further we intend developing and establishing strong rural linkage to set up community action areas and also actively interact with the industry to undertake excellent application research that serves the needs of the community

Training and Development:

In this area we intend creating a niche which will be well recognized where talented young students and faculty will gravitate. This would mean setting up faculty development programs through networks where each of these issue relevant to Training and development can be handled.

We also intend to undertake formal and informal training programs in research methodology and Population Health and create an awareness of the broader responsibilities of health care in the societal context. Added to this, as a team we would like to create a vibrant Health and Humanities outlook within the SJRI.

Infrastructure:

As we move on to achieve our goals, we look at an overall growth perspective. We intend to stay further committed to the development of excellence in the core groups of the SJRI, as well as in the Scientific community.
