This unit runs an 8 bed residential Clinical Research Center (CRC) with a metabolic kitchen, with an additional 5 beds for acute work. The facilities available are a calorimetry suite (including whole body calorimetry), ventilated hoods, respiratory and exercise physiology, cardiovascular physiology and a sterile room for preparation of specific infusates. Extensive body composition facilities are available. The CRC also runs Bioavailability/Bioequivalence trials, as well as a pharmacy for the secure storage of drugs and food for laboratory use under study guidelines.
