Our unit is the most recent (circa 2008) addition to the St. John’s Research Institute. The primary aim of this unit is to promote the application of molecular techniques to the analysis of actual patient tissue specimens in order to answer questions that will eventually aid clinicians in the management of their patients. We see ourselves as the bridge that connects basic research scientists on the one hand and pathologists and practicing physicians/surgeons on the other. In other words we hope to capitalize on the current buzz around “Translational Research”!
